I met Scott thru my husband Clark Hipp. Along with Hector Ingram these 3 make up a dedicated fly fishing crew. Scott is what I consider a renaissance man. Brilliant in many fields, interesting conversationalist. Never a dull moment. Happy birthday Scott!

My husband, Ron, and I met Scott at Hound Ears Club in 2013. Scott loved to dance which led to him healing my dislocated shoulder. I had been struggling with shoulder pain for several months, and after a night of dancing with Scott, I woke up miraculously healed!!! If you have ever danced with Scott then you know his tendency to spin, twirl and twist his partner. Which somehow relocated my shoulder. Happy Birthday, Scott…aka “Healer”

Steve and I met Scott (whom we immediately called “Smitty” after hearing how smitten he was with Joyce) when Joyce brought him to our beach house in the summer of 2023.. I picked this picture of these two crazy people that I love so much because the first time I really spoke to Scott was sitting on our porch at the beach. Yes, we had wine and vodka and lots of other fun things around. Late in the evening Scott asked me if I wanted to play “name that tune”! . I cracked up because I’ve never met a man who wanted to play that game even though it is my favorite game to play. I am a music fanatic and it turns out Scott is as well. I now know it is just one of his many areas of fanaticism. I was quite impressed with him on that knowledge alone. We have shared many fun times together with boats, ,mountains, cigars, martinis, travel. I’m sure everybody in this room has shared many of the same things with Scott and Joyce. I am just very happy that Joyce brought him to us to get to know and I sure do wish we could be at his 65th birthday.

Boy do I wish I had a picture or video of Scott crawling on the dining room table and seeing it come crashing down!! After a glass or three of vino! Ha ha. That was some good wine!! 🍷. Every conversation Michelle and I have had with Scott and every time we’ve had the chance to meet in person Scott you have always been the most gracious host, greeting us with a smile and offering literally all you have to make us feel welcome. Happy 65th Birthday Scott and looking forward to celebrating and creating an even stronger friendship over time!! Cheers!!!

Aside from spending time together, one of my favorite memories with my Dad was our trip to Rome. We bought a beautiful, white, stuffed cat. I didn’t want to crush it in my bag so he carried it through the airport under his arm. The cat was very realistic and people thought it was a living cat. Building out the farm with you over the last few years has been my literal childhood dream come true. Getting to spend time with you has been so fun and I look forward to the future memories we will make. Thank you for always being so supportive. I love you. Louise

I met Scott while we served together on the Cape Fear Academy Board. From that, we enjoyed many adventures! Perhaps the most notable was playing golf in a hurricane! Congratulations on your 65th Birthday! That’s 65 orbits around the sun! That puts you in the 40,000,000,000 mile club! Best wishes! Bill Anlyan

Mike and I met Scott through my childhood bestie, Joyce. We have enjoyed going on travel adventures to SEC football games and NOLA. We also enjoy spending quality time in the mountains and at the beach. We have bonded over a love of soccer and wine. We look forward to many more fun weekends “making the days count”

I have always loved sharing a cottage with Scott when we go fishing. The lovely food, fantastic wine and always a stock on the oven. Often for days! Most of all I like the conversations with Scott and Clark. Sometimes it’s like a TED Talk. Happy birthday SCS.

Hector Ingram

I met Harry Bum at an LSU football game! The day will never be forgotten! There will be many more memories to come! Happy birthday Scott!

One of my first and fondest memories of meeting Scott was down in New Orleans at a Krewe of King Arthur pre parade party at Vaughn’s. No live music that night, but his music selections from the juke box were a little bit of everything to keep everyone singing and getting into the Mardi Gras spirit, my first introduction to listening to Kermit Ruffins! Jim and I want to wish you a Happy 60th Birthday, filled with family, friends, laughter and love. We look forward to celebrating with you soon! Cheers!

Scott Sullivan has always been a close friend. I value his opinion and respect him. Scott has also been a close friend to my daughters. My relationship with Scott began a long time ago and over those years we have shared many of life’s moments. He has always stuck by me through some challenging times. I will always appreciate his support. I love Scott and wish him the best with his future with Joyce. Happy Birthday Scott!!

Scott has been a dear friend. We’ve spent many hours rambling about music, art, economics, and a lot of nothing…you know…that kind of rambling you can only do with a good friend in that judge free zone that real friendship affords. We’ve also spent a lot time in silence, comfortable silence…hunting, fishing, or just driving around…you know…that kind of comfortable silence that real friendship affords. RC

We met Scott over dinner at Reid’s in tynecastle! I had been hearing all about Scott from my bestie Joyce! He lived up to my high expectations as a southern gentleman! From that weekend on we knew his love for our Joyce was true and real! Scott’s hospitality and welcoming personality make him one of a kind human that you know you can count on as a friend!

I first met Scott at Dennis and Linda’s house many years ago. This meeting was at a welcome party for Dennis’ new partner - Ken White. Dennis, Scott, Bob Martin and I started a great friendship that has lasted all these years. After that meeting we met every quarter to share elegant dinners (mostly but perhaps with the exception of one famous Chinese Rice ball event) prepared by the men pretending to be chefs-except Scott who was an inspiration to all of us. Happy Birthday to generous, thoughtful, intelligent and most talented Scott! (So sorry that I did not send a photo. Dennis has the mother load of photos.)

I met Scott through his work with the Cameron Foundation. He is the consummate professional with high standards for operation and a great love for North Carolina. It is a pleasure to work with him.
